Vermont-NEA President Martha Allen and Vermont-NEA Director of Benefits Programs Mark Hage were in Bennington last night at MAUHS to provide information on the teacher retirement program. There was a good turn-out from SWVEA and lots of good questions asked.
The only fly-in-the-ointment was that there were two officers from SWVEA, the President and the Secretary, and neither one of them welcomed Martha and Mark to Bennington. I was very embarassed.
It is now May. I am wondering where the report of the audit committee is. There has not been an audit conducted in the time that I have been a member yet the SWVEA Constitution clearly states that there will be one done yearly.
The SWVEA Constitution also says that there will be a Budget Committee to prepare the yearly budget then to present it to the Executive Board. Once it goes to the Executive Board then it is presented to the membership for perusal before the members vote on it at the annual meeting.
Something to think about. Members start reading the SWVEA Constitution-the properly presented SWVEA Constitution that has been prepared according to Roberts' Rules of Order. Not that sham document.
