Be part of the solution, not part of the problem

Hello, it's been a while since I posted. There have been many ups and downs. My hope is that SWVEA begins the real process of reviewing their constitution. It is a lengthy process that needs careful thought.
In the meantime, it is important that the union follow the current constitution. I suggest that we begin by finding out who is on the Budget and Audit Committees. Since I have been a member there has been no audit report. Makes one wonder where our hard-earned money has gone. Maybe it really has gone to where it was intended but we really need to have it documented.
While I am on the subject, it is important that the Negotiations Committee members receive more than $75.00 a year for all of their hard work. When you receive the copy of the proposed budget before the Annual Meeting please make recommendations that they receive more. $75.00 is like a slap in the face.

The NEA Representative Assembly is in July in New Orleans. VT sends 13 (I think) delegates. There are only 12 names on the ballot this year. I urge you to submit your name for a write-in candidate. This is an incredible experience. It's time that the southern portion of the state members stop whining about not getting attention, get involved and make others sit up and take notice. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
